The first Top Team event of the season kicked off last Friday at Amberley Domain, where schools from North Canterbury’s Kowai cluster combined to engage in a range of physical activities.
It was the first time in two years that students from Amberley, Broomfield, Leithfield, Omihi, Sefton and Waipara Schools were able to participate in the event, along with it being one of the first times Primary Sports Canterbury has hosted a Top Team event.
Teams were made up with a mix of students from each of the cluster’s schools that rotated around twelve activities across the day, ranging from water to memory activities.
Primary Sports Canterbury Top Team Lead Dylan Smith said the day was “a real special one” for the kids in the Kowai cluster, after not being able to participate in Top Team for a while due to COVID restraints.
Top Team is now run by Primary Sports Canterbury, and is a day of rotating around fun, team-building activities and challenges that keep thousands of kids active and involved.
We are still taking bookings for Term 1 2023, and a few bookings left for Term 4, head over to our Top Team tab to find out more!
